Weight, Calendar, and Stats - Our Most Common Questions and Answers

  • How do I enter my weight into the calendar?

Entering your weight into the calendar is easy. First click on a date and you'll see a blinking cursor. Then just type in your weight. When you're through, hit Enter, Tab, or click on another day and the weight will be saved automatically. The statistics above will update automatically, along with the weekly loss (to the right) and monthly loss (below).

  • How do I change or delete a weight entry in the calendar?

To delete a weight all you have to do is remove the value from the calendar. One way to do this is by highlighting the value with your mouse and hitting your delete key. To change the weight, just remove the previous value using your backspace and delete keys, and correct the value. When you are finished deleting or changing the value, hit your Enter key or tab to a new date.

  • How do I change my goal weight?

First, choose "Program Options" from the Settings menu. The Program Options window will open and the Profiles tab shows by default.

Now find your Profile in the "Current User Profiles" list (yours may be the only profile listed). Simply click in the Goal column where your goal is listed and change the value. You can also change any other profile information. Click OK when you are done and your statistics will be updated automatically.

  • How can I change my Projected Date at the top of the program window?

The Projected Date field is actually a calculated field based on your weight loss data. So, it cannot be changed directly. Instead, it gets re-calculated each time you enter a new weight in the calendar. It also gets more accurate as you enter more weights.

Please note: the Projected Date above the calendar is not related to the date in the Goal Planner tool.

  • My Projected Date (above the calendar) is far into the future. Will it really take that long to hit my goal?

The Projected Date is calculated based on the amount of weight that you have lost and your current weight loss pace. When you are just starting out, you may only have a few weights recorded into the calendar and the Projected Date is far into the future. This is simply because it is too early yet for the program to project your target date.

As with any statistical calculation, more data yields more accurate results, so try recording some future weights into the calendar and watch your projection change dramatically. Once you are convinced that everything is working correctly, simply delete the future data that you have entered.

  • Why are some of the statistics above the calendar showing "---"?

In some cases your statistical values will be empty. For example, if you have not lost any weight, the program cannot determine how many Lbs/Week you have lost or project a date for when you will reach your goal.

  • Does Weight-By-Date support units of measure other than pounds?

Yes. Weight-By-Date Pro can also use the metric system. There is an option on the Profiles tab in the program Setup window, which lets you choose your desired unit of measure.

  • Does Weight-By-Date Pro track my weekly and monthly weight loss?

Yes! As you enter your weight into the calendar, Weight-By-Date Pro automatically totals the pounds lost for that week and month. The weekly totals are shown at the right of the calendar and the monthly total is shown below the calendar.

  • Can I keep track of weight lost for each day of the week?

Yes. You can display your weight loss for each day on the calendar and it is shown in the top right corner of each date. Look for the "Show Daily Loss" option below the calendar. Weight-By-Date Pro automatically calculates this value as you enter your weight.

  • How often do I have to weigh-in to the calendar?

As often as you feel comfortable. Weight-By-Date Pro does not require you to record your weight each day and will not fabricate data for days that you have missed. None of the weight loss calculations require a daily weight entry. So you can weigh yourself as often as you like and record it into the calendar as you feel necessary. You can't, however, record more than one weight per day.

  • Why does the Pounds Lost by Week chart occasionally show a negative value?

The Pounds Lost by Week graph will show a negative value if you have gained weight for that week. This is by design, so that the value will stand out from the others, and you can try to determine why you gained weight that particular week.
