How many foods and nutrients are in Weight-By-Date Pro?
Weight-By-Date Pro contains a database of over 11,000 foods, based largely on research from the USDA. Each food contains data for calories, carbs, fat, and over 20 additional nutrients. From time-to-time we also add foods via program updates that you can download from within the software.

Can I add my own foods and exercises?
Absolutely. Weight-By-Date Pro gives you a way to add your own foods and exercises for use in the software. There is no limit to the number of foods and exercises that you can add. So, if you have the food label for a particular food that is not already in the list, just add it to the database and it will instantly be available in your food diary. Likewise, if you know the calories burned for an exercise or workout that is not in the list, it's easy to add that as well.

Is Weight-By-Date Pro a calorie counter? Will it calculate my calorie deficit for each day?
Yes and Yes. In addition to being a calorie counter for what you eat, Weight-By-Date Pro takes a good look at the calories that you are burning and compares the two. We call this Net Calories. It takes your food calorie count and subtracts any calories burned to show if you've burned more calories than you took in. It can also factor your BMR into the equation, treating this as calories burned, to give you a true indication of where you stand.

Is Weight-By-Date Pro a carb counter for my low carb diet?
Yes. And Weight-By-Date is more than a simple carb counter. For example, Weight-By-Date Pro can track Net Carbs, which subtracts fiber and sugar alcohols from carbohydrates. This is used most frequently with the Atkins diet, but it has value for many other low carb diets as well.

Absolutely not. Flexibility is a key aspect of Weight-By-Date Pro and it will work with virtually any type of weight loss diet. For example, when you configure the food diary to track your nutrient intake, you can specify which nutrients that you want to track and set daily limits (or targets) for each nutrient.

Does Weight-By-Date Pro support the metric system?
Yes. Weight-By-Date Pro supports both the US/Imperial and Metric measurement systems. With support for the metric system, you can record your weight in kilograms, height in meters and centimeters, and body measurements in centimeters. Food quantities are based in US terms of measure, however, since our food data was obtained in the US.
